Our Story
About ATISH
ATISH means fire in Persian — and fire is the whole idea. Not trays warmed in an oven somewhere and driven over, but real charcoal, real smoke, and food coming off the flame the moment it's ready, in your own backyard.
We cater one way: live. Our team arrives hours before your guests, builds the fire, dresses the tables, and grills through the whole event — Persian classics like koobideh, jujeh and baarg alongside premium American steaks, every one of them kosher, Beit Yosef only.
From an intimate backyard dinner of 25 to a simcha of 200-plus, the fire scales with the celebration. What doesn't change: everything is cooked fresh on site, service stays warm and unhurried, and the yard is left spotless when the coals die down.
Meet the Owner
Yosef Abdolazadeh
Founder of ATISH
“I won't compromise on two things: the people I cook for, and the food I put in front of them.”
Yosef learned to cook the way most good cooks do — standing in a kitchen, watching. His mother and his grandmother did most of the teaching, mostly without meaning to. What he picked up there he carried outside: to the fire in his own backyard, and to the Shabbat table, week after week, until cooking over live flame stopped being something he thought about.
ATISH came out of something simpler than a business plan. It was the look on someone's face the moment they tried his food — the first bite, then the smile. He wanted to see it more often than one table at a time allowed, and cooking in quantity was the fastest way there.
Based in Great Neck and serving New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, every ATISH event is held to the same standard: uncompromising kosher, Beit Yosef only, and food worth talking about long after the last skewer is gone.
